Alaska B737-800

The Boeing 737-800 is part of the next generation of the 737 series, making it the third generaltion. It is a short- to medium-range, narrow-body jet airliner powered by two engines, seats 117 passengers and it is a stretched version of the 700 model. The 737-800 burns 3,200 L of fuel per hour, which is about 80 percent of the fuel used by an MD-80 on a comparable flight, even while carrying more passengers than the MD-80.
